Mission
Community Adaptation Learning Exchange (CALE) is an inclusive peer-learning collective focused on advancing climate adaptation efforts at the community level. The CALE network supports and builds the capacity of its members through the thoughtful interrogation of adaptation practice and planning rooted in equity and climate justice.
CALE Sessions
CALE convenes bi-monthly meetings focused on elevating the experience and perspectives of all those working to advance community responses to climate change and learning from successes and failures working to support sustainable, equitable, and resilient communities. The sessions focus on exploring adaptation topics and projects through a set of unifying questions and considerations, asking all invited speakers: to unpack underlying assumptions, to elaborate goals and priorities, to address the role of racial equity and inclusion, and to revisit failures / opportunities for improvement. CALE programming is organized around a yearly thematic focus.
CALE's theme for 2021-2022 is learning how climate communication approaches, methods, and tools enable or advance community adaptation conversations and efforts.
